38 Crush Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) OK ! I'm old and forgetful but there was several people in the aftermarket that made resin turbos and such. Anybody know who they are ?? Edited January 5, 2016 by 38 Crush
socal76 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 38 Crush, I have some metal ones coming. I will see what they look like. He also does some in resin and he may include a pair in a trade we did. Plus I will go into my bookmarks
MeatMan Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Model Meister makes some nice ones that even come with an external wastegate and fittings, and they come in at least two sizes. I have a set and they are the best I've bought. It is an overseas outfit, so it takes a little longer to get them.B-N-L resins also have some but I've never bought any. I have bought some from VCG Resins though and they are okay.
kitbash1 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Scale Production in Germany has a very nice set.
diymirage Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 one of our members makes a nice set, chucky or chubby or fuzzy or somethingits been a few years since he send me some
38 Crush Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Thanks guys, I'll check a few out. I already check on Chuck, chubby or Fuzzy and his site was closed !
Quick GMC Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 The ones from Hobby Design seem to the be nicest/cleanest, but they are only positioned one way. if you want RH/LH turbos, i have bought some from TDR Innovations on shapeways in multiple sizes. They are very nice. So far those are my favorite two, but there are plenty more out there.
38 Crush Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Thanks Cameron, I'll keep you in mind as I already ordered a pair from VCG resins, They looked pretty good, (Left & Right) I'll Know better when I get them, but I've got a bunch of work to changed them around for what I want to do !
om617 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I agree on the Hobby Design parts being the best, really crisp and nice detail. I bought some engine parts to a Suprafrom Model Meister and it was really poor quality, pinholes, lots of flash and some areas on the Turbo it looks like the resin did not reach,so the material was thinner then flash. Close to junk beside the intake and wastgate.
38 Crush Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 I went with the ones from VCG because they looked pretty good. Plus they were a twin kit which is what I was looking for. The ones from Hobby Design looked great ,but I thought they might be a little big for my application.
