I thought I would share this with everyone, I am working on the freaky tiki build and wanted to model bamboo for the doors and bed but not sure how to go about it.

I bought a tubing cutter and using files took the cutting edge off of it, and proceeded to use it to make the knuckle on a bamboo skewer then using a sanding stick reduce the size of the stick between the knuckles to look like bamboo, this first attempt is fine but needing to go about 50% smaller for the doors.,.

Cool idea so far.

For the rack on this wagon:

I just used round styrene. I rolled a blade on the rod at each node, then painted a base color, highlight color, then a wash on the node.

Erik, i like the plastic better, even with the open tubes... What color/Brand of paint did you use for the color of the bamboo?

I think it was Tamiya TS3 Dark Yellow. I'll check the can to confirm when I get home.
