buggin' out Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Title says it all, has anyone ever scratch built a carb, making a car on a budget and wanted to have a go at making my own, but im a bit of a rookie, anyone succeded and made a tutorial on it?
Foxer Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I tried once but for a single barrel I couldn't find a casting of. It didn't come out that great, but it would have improved the 2nd time if I tried. Carbs have very small detail at 1/25 and the main reason so many are very simplified. Like any scratchbuilt part you just have to break it down into basic shapes and fit them all together. There are some really nice after market carbs around that had to have masters made to start with. Take a look thru this thread for carbs .. This is a link to the carb I attempted, just for reference
buggin' out Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Ah, thanks for that, i saw someone do one on a build thread but now i need it i cant find it anywhere, i think he was building a gasser too...
buggin' out Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 That will actually be usefull for when i get a beetle kit, foxer, the carb you made looks similar to ones in beetles.
