I've finally settled on utilising the custom option for my build that's included in the AMT 1969 Chevelle SS-396 Convertible (and its c.1968 relative El Camino , and the 1969 hardtop Chevelle) , and am wondering whose design they are / were originally ?  I've never seen one of those kits built with its custom parts -- is it just me or does its tail lamps look like Oldsmobile parts ? -- so I just had to attempt building a sweet version ( shaved door handles , and maybe shaved emblems ).

If any-one here has built the custom version , please post some pics !

It looks like 1967 was the last year that AMT put customizer/designer names on annual boxes or instruction sheets, so I guess we'll never know for sure who designed the custom parts in the '68/'69 Chevelle.

Correct me if I'm wrong , but wasn't the designer's name Bill Cushenberry [sp] ? You're right about the years which gave the designer's name ; I can't recall ever seeing a post-1967 box with the name on it .
