RodneyBad Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 (edited) Something I was toying with. I was thinking about making a repo Truck. Hidden wheel lift under the back bumper (or as bumper) Then I decided to build a Boom for it. And then........ The Boom (Century) Century Wheel lift w/o tilting feature (unlike the Metro I did Earlier) I might just build a tow truck and scrap the Truck bed. Edited April 1, 2008 by Zukiholic
JAFFA Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Oh ghee, look at all that scratchbuilding, JUST AWESOME!! Keep us updated!

Guest Gramps-xrds Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Man, you spent some time building that boom. Awsome work.
Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 What's goin' on... Very Cool. I'd say build a wrecker bed for it.
Wildrice Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Awesome work. What tires and wheels are on the truck?
RodneyBad Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 Repo Rig just not working? I'll have to wait a bit and find my Wrecker bed info and start building one. Maybe out of the Chevy extra cab or the Last issue of the 92-ish Ford The tires are Bridgestone Mud duelers from an Import 4x4 kit (??) (24"inches tall in 1/24th) The Resin wheels are from the parts box I got a few years ago at an NNL that SABA has put on for Many Years here in Portland. I hogged out the holes for some added depth I simplified the wheel lift because the tilt option was a PITA the first time. Thanks for the Comments.
Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 What's goin' on... Go to the U.S. Patent Database do a search for wrecker. I used that Data base for past projects because the patents all have drawings there and explainations which is a HUGE help for reference when scratchbuilding. I found several different wrecker bodies there while looking for info on heavy wrecker assemblies. On that site you can enter the patent if you know it. Look for patents by searching the manufacturer (example Jerr Dan,Challenger so on ) or just a general description. I had the link saved on my old computer which is in the landfill these days.
