I have been lurking for sometime and figured it is time to let you know a bit about me.  I am a retired USAF Hercules, Phantom, BUFF, Tanker fixer; also worked in Ground Communications for the last three years.  I gave them 21 years 2 months and 18 days; but then who is counting.  I was also a United Methodist minister for twelve years, but am now retired.  To stay busy I drive a school bus for Starmount middle/high school. Strongly believe in UNC basketball and Carolina Panthers football.

Got my first kit for Christmas 1959 - an AMT 40 Ford Coupe trophy series kit and was immediately addicted.  Over the next several years I collected more than 200 kits, mostly AMT & MPC annuals, plus many of the trophy series.  In '84 I sold off all my kits because I was no longer building and got tired of packing and moving them every couple of years.  In '94 I was at Michael's and found a Lindberg '66 Chevelle and a Revell Gordon Monte Carlo NASCAR kit for $5 each - thoughts of a Smokey Yunick Chevelle filled my brain.  Since then I have amassed more than 300 kits and build maybe two or three a year; the M/C has been built but the Chevelle is still waiting its turn.  I guess if I had to choose I would say older circle track and drag cars are my favorite, although I like to stretch my imagination to full customs and the occasional over-the-edge build.
