snacktruck67 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Does anyone here have any knowledge of Autoglym polishes?
GeeBee Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 I use their products on my PT Cruiser, what do you need to know ?
snacktruck67 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Was wondering if the polishes are suitable for models as well as 1:1 cars.
GeeBee Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I've used their super resin Polish on models before, it has a slight abrasive cut to it, these days I used poorboys SSR2 and meguires gold class, most automotive polishes work just fine on models
Howard Cohen Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 If you are going to use any wax on your model, try to ensure it is silicone free as the silicone may damage the paint on your model. I have used Meguiars in the past and I am going to try Mother's this weekend.
Mr Stock Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 We are an Autoglym distributor at my work, the super resin polish is very nice and I have used it on my models before, although as Geoff mentioned it is slightly abrasive.I personally now use, novus 2, followed by meguiars polish, and I top that with a carnuba wax polish.
DeeCee Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I used to swear by Maquires wet look, until i found Autoglym super resin polish, it is the best polish i have found for my models.. ( and my 1:1's ). Bear in mind, i only use auto acrylic paints, so that is all i can vouch for.. This was polished with Maguires, it looked good, but then i re-polished it with Auto glym super resin, the results speak for them selves. And this was only polished with Auto glym. These results are easy to get with Auto glym personally, all i can say is try it...
