I actually bought this kit as a parts donor to replace some stuff I managed to lose on the MSP Motor Carrier project I posted a few days ago. Thus, the missing hood ornament, rear Bowtie, and rearview mirror. That, and a few engine doodads. So, I decided to build the remainder of the model as a typical cop car-turned-taxi-turned-beater. At some point, the car was retrofitted with an LT1 and dual exhaust, sourced from a junk Alternomad kit.

I still need to either add a new plate, or scratch up a plate bracket/fuel door flap. Haven't decided which way to go yet.

Looking good!

You need some "hickies" on all the bumper corners front and rear. Parallel parking and urban taxi work just destroys those poly covered bumpers.

I like it.  One other detail to add to the former cop car storyline is to simulate some rubber plugs in the sheet metal where the overhead lights & antennas used to be.  I was thinking of punching a few discs of black decal for a similar application on one of my cars.

Thanks for sharing

Nice work, Chuck. But I'm shocked that you didn't use your usual outdoor "studio" to photograph this one. Bad weather?

BTW... did you scratchbuild that clipboard on the dash? Nice detail!

The clipboard comes in the Taxi / Firechief issue.

Great build of a Cab that's done too many miles on hard roads. Very realistic engine bay too. Too many of my 1;1's have looked very similar lol
