I am wanting to build a West Coast R model Mack. I have seen several 700 series built like the "Rubber Duck" truck, but I want to build a 600 series. Something like a RS686LST Valueliner. The company that I used to work for had 2, and I know that there are a lot of differences between them and a regular R model. I am wanting to try to convert the AMT R model hood. It is pretty clear that the fenders mount lower on the hood on Western, not to mention the rear of the fender is chopped off, and the headlight buckets are slightly smaller, and of course the grill and Mack lettering are different. The problem is that I don't have any real specs. I could guess, but my craftsmanship is bad enough without throwing another monkey wrench into the mix. I've measured photos, but because of camera angles, I get varied results. This may turn into more than I want to tackle, but if anyone has any info, I would be very thankful. I've always liked these trucks and I hope to build one.

Thanks...Brian

Terry is right about AITM.. Dave has 2 versions of the R700.. The regular one as many of us have used for The Rubber Duck & an earlier west coast version

Thanks guys! I had looked at Dave's 700 kit and considered cutting it down. If you notice the bottom kit. The molded ridge on the side of the hood is further away from the fender than the upper kit. This is correct for the newer Western style Mack that I am wanting to build. I'm not sure if the headlight buckets are right for the Valueliner, but that can be fixed easy enough.

If anyone else has any info, I would be truly thankful!
