Hello Truckers,

I have problems with understanding what parts are on and around mounted diesel motors in big trucks.  Here a pic from a motor where things can be seen;

What are these things?

Black star?  Blue star?  Red star?  Green star?

If you don't mind, I have a few more on a Cat motor.

Thanks for input in advance.

Black Star: Power Steering Reservoir on top of the pump which is direct drive

Red star: Lower half of the air compressor

Blue Star: Governor/ air regulator, mounted to the upper half of the compressor

Green Star: fuel filter and mount with hand pump for priming

Brian, Excellent!

OK, lets go further with this.  Why do thick lines go here;

Lots of small lines running out of there too.

Those are fuel lines. The big ones are supply lines from the tank(s) to the fuel pump, then a big one to the distribution block (if I'm thinkin correctly) and the small ones are for the injectors
