10thumbs Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Hello Truckers, I have problems with understanding what parts are on and around mounted diesel motors in big trucks. Here a pic from a motor where things can be seen; What are these things? Black star? Blue star? Red star? Green star? If you don't mind, I have a few more on a Cat motor. Thanks for input in advance.

Black Star: Power Steering Reservoir on top of the pump which is direct drive Red star: Lower half of the air compressor Blue Star: Governor/ air regulator, mounted to the upper half of the compressor Green Star: fuel filter and mount with hand pump for priming
10thumbs Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 Brian, Excellent! OK, lets go further with this. Why do thick lines go here; Lots of small lines running out of there too.
Petetrucker07 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Those are fuel lines. The big ones are supply lines from the tank(s) to the fuel pump, then a big one to the distribution block (if I'm thinkin correctly) and the small ones are for the injectors
