Fisher61 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 This is what I've been working on since January, yes I know I work slow! Revell '55 Chevy. I painted it with Duplicolor, it's a replica of a car a guy down the street had when I was a kid about 8 or 9 years old. This '55 has been stuck in my head all these years, so I had to get it out! And here's where I'm at as of today. Thanks for looking
brewsterg6 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Gee Plumber... It looks great over here too!! Keep up the great work!
CraigDaModeler Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 So close you can taste it huh? Looking good, chassis & interior very nice.
Raul_Perez Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Very nice work, William! Since you didn't take the "strip and glue the trim to the model first" approach, I'll be really interested to see what you think of how the chrome side trim from the kit looks with the BMF work on the windows. Or are you using BMF on the chrome side pieces after you install it? I've got a couple of the tri-five kits and I'm not yet sure which way I'll do the trim on mine. Thanks for sharing and please keep us posted with your progress,

Thanks for sharing and please keep us posted with your progress, I was up in the air about doing the "strip and glue" method, thought I would try it this way. The foil is BMF ultra bright chrome [ cuts like ###### ], but appears to be a close match. Also the insert is painted white, covers about 50% of the trim, I'll let you guys be the judge when it's finished.

Yeah...the only use I've found for the ultra-brite stuff is rearview and sideview mirrors. Since I'll only get to see the finished model in pics, I'm more interested in your opinion of how it looks when it's done. Thanks, William!!
RodneyBad Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Nice looking interior. Don't recall seeing an all Black Belair (I'm NO expert mind you) SO it looks cool and different.. I Like your work.
Fisher61 Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 A few more pics before it's finished. Thanks again for looking!
Modellpularn Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 How cool, and a bit of a coincidence..... My first American car was a '55 Chevy Bel Air HT, and it had been ordered just like your model! When I bought it, it was blue and white, had been repainted a number of times, I was the 17th owner....
