1969 Chevelle convert wheel well trim

I'm looking for suggestions on how to recreate the chrome wheel well trim on this model.  I am already aware of removing the trim left over from the 68 and the vent windows.  But want to recreate a proper look for this kit.

First, are you sure that that trim was standard on a '69 SS396? Runs in my mind it wasn't, but possibly was optional.

At any rate, if you want to do it, lately I've been doing wheel opening trim with a silver Sharpie. Quick, easy, clean, looks good. Usually takes two coats but not a problem because it dries in minutes, if not seconds. Good stuff!
