Its been ten years since I have walked into a show. I didn't bring anything to show as I just wanted to walk around a bit. As soon as I walked in I was Greeted by long time friend Matt Leblanc who gave me the nickel tour. I picked up a few things, some from him and some from the small swapmeet. We went upstairs and took in the show.

This show was one of the last ones I had been to years ago. Its was a bit smaller now than then but the quality was still there. we walked around the Louisiana Naval War Museum and took in the sights including the U.S.S. Kidd, a Fletcher-class destroyer. One bad a$$ mother...

We Left early as we had a 3 hour ride back to Texas as we were leaving I got a call from Matt stating that he had taking Best auto, Best in class and Best in show! He was elated to say the least. His 49 Merc was built Box Stock and it was its last show. Way to Buddy. It just goes to show that a clean well executed build can prevail over a model that is detailed up. (This coming from a guy who details his cars to death....)

Congrats Buddy

All in All we had a great time and it felt good to walk around in familiar grounds and now with my son in tow who picked up a few kits and was given one by one of Matt's buddies ( sorry I forgot your name).

Its good to be back...

Heres the rest..

Thanks Shane The best in show was a shocker to say the least. There were some good models on the table. But That just goes to show that good basics in building some times out weigh a poorly built one with all the bells and whistles. Thanks again. Matt
