JTRACING Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 another one i started. body is in the paint shop , its gonna be red with a black vinyl top. heres some work so far went with the base 440 which was the blue/ turquoise color instead of the hugger orange used on the high performance version
Ken Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Hey James, how did you achieve that finish on the exhaust manifolds? It looks super realistic!!! Great job on the rest of the details.
JTRACING Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 little sneak peak at the body i had to take a break after doing one side of the window chrome lol... Hey James, how did you achieve that finish on the exhaust manifolds? It looks super realistic!!! Great job on the rest of the details. i sanded them with some 120 grit to get a good texture like cast iron, then paint them silver, brushed on some dullcote, then used pastels to get the burnt rusted look
JTRACING Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 didnt feel like doin to much work today, so i picked a small part to work on. the battery, i added PE terminals, just gotta stick the wires in the ends but will do that once everything is in the engine bay.
evilone Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 dang bro you have inspired me to go get a daytona charger and fix it up sick status thanks for the good pics now i have refrence pics
kelson Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Nice looking 69'charger! nice to see a non hi po engine built ,really impressed with the work on the exhaust manifolds very realistic looking.Looks like a awesome build in the works.
george 53 Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Build up looks great. Were canadian engines different than U.S. engines? cause the ones I remember were more greenish in color.yours looks more blue than the ones that came out of the Mound Road plant.(U.S. spec. engines for the DEEEtroit area were built at the Trenton Engine plant,in Trenton Michigan)But color surely doesnt take away anything from your build,Its still beautilful, and the 69 Charger IS my alltime favorite car,Bar none!!!!
