I know there are several different versions. Today I realized there is a version w/ the correct rear wheels that are seen in Mad Max 2/Road Warrior movie, (not the 8 spoke sunraysia wheels that are w/ the first issue, and that the car was seen with a full set of in the first movie)

I'm trying to nail down which of the many versions of this kit came w/ those 10 or 15 spoke wheels that are specifically on the rear of the car. I've seen a few pics of the kit on the internet w/ those wheels.

From what I can tell, there are atleast 3 different versions of this kit.

1st kit was the plain jane road warrior kit

2nd kit was w/ the metal supercharger

3rd kit was w/ the metal supercharger, photoetched parts, and dog. (big money on ebay!)

Now... which of the last 2 kits had the correct "Road Warrior" rear wheels? I have the first plain kit. they're the 8 spoke Sunraysia wheels at all 4 corners.

I'm going to be trying to make an "as accurate as I possibly can" version of the MM1 car and the MM2 car. I was lucky enough to win an auction on EvilBay that was a complete kit w/ the RESIN conversion parts... so I finally don't have to beg for them to be casted.

Anyone have a clue?

I have seen at least five versions of it and I have two of them.

I believe this is the first issue, I don't have that one but I think it's plain.

This one I have and it has #032176, it's a plain kit without extras.

This is another version of this kit #043660 with some added parts, I don't have it so I can't tell what's in it.

I do have this one, it has #004661 and has the rear wheels you are talking about as well as 5 of the other wheels, photo etched tools, a chain, some card board boxes and Dinky-Di dog food cans and some other stuff, but no metal supercharger or dog, it's plated plastic as in the first ones.

This version #043677 wich I don't have has the dog.

Ah, ok so you have the best one available... I would have assumed it had a metal supercharger. So it comes with the correct MM2 rear wheels, and 5 other wheels? I wonder what they are?

I have the first two pictures you posted. I got the 2nd one first. And the 1st one just recently off ebay (hasn't made it to me yet) But it says it comes with the metal supercharger.

But if it's plain other than that, it that means I'll have to search for the rear wheels again. Darn.

No the #004661 kit has no metal supercharger, the only metal parts are the photo etch fret and the metal chain...but the wheels are there, the drawback is that they are too shallow and has to be made deeper to get the right look, I have seen these wheels copied in resin on ebay but it was a while ago...and I don't remember who did them.
The 5 other wheels are the same Sunraysia 8-spokes as in the first issues and they
are also much too shallow for the rear if you compare them to the Interceptor Pursuit Special car from the first Mad Max movie, so they also has to have more depth to them to look right.

My plan is to build one as the Interceptor Pursuit Special from the first Mad Max movie and I also have the resin trans kit to do that, the other one will be from the Mad Max 2 Road Warrior movie.

I got my kit in the mail the other day. The kit in the first picture has a metal supercharger... not sure if it was added by the seller, since it already had the resin parts too.

I would like to do the same thing as you. Build both versions. But I want to find the release with the photo etch and different rear wheels now :(

There goes more money haha

Oh and to overcome the shallow wheel issue, and the fact that the tires are way too modern... I am using the old Otaki/ARII wheels w/ the BFG tires. They're more to scale. I'm also working on having  a friend copy them in resin so I have more of them
