JerseeJerry55 Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 If you find that you have to strip paint again, might i recommend brake fluid? Dot 3 works extremely well. I recently had to strip a body. I left it soaking in purple power for over a month. Nothing. I soaked the body in brake fluid for three hours and the paint just bubbled up and slid right off. After soaking, run it under water and scrub with a fairly stiff brush. Wash with soap and water. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!I will try that suggestion as I pardon the expression effed up the Orange paint on my 1969 440 Super Bee. Got runs drips gloms of Tamiya TS31 Bright Orange on the car. Have sanded some off this morning but I believe I need to strip her. I'd like to paint her in that orange but am hesitant. The only thing I can think of is I was too close??? Whereas with my 70 GSX I was too far. I suppose lacquer is a finicky sort??? Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.Jerry
GTJUNIOR Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Practice, practice, practice and then more practice, that my friend is the key to success. I have had to redo my current body three times already and am busy stripping it once again because I messed up yet again! Hopefully fourth time will be the charm.

I'm bummed because I really liked the Orange so much I was gonna name the car the Ulysses S. Figured since the General Lee has been used and probably millions of scale examples have been constructed. Why not make the Northerner's version.
JerseeJerry55 Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Okay back on track. The Camaro is now purple. I think we'll call it Grimace.
