Bullitt Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I've been working on an AMT 1957 Bel Air hardtop I had started a long time ago, the date on the instructions says 1996, so I've had it a while. Assembling the frame last night, and getting ready to do some painting on body parts. Went to grab the interior tub and seats for painting and lo & behold, no interior tub. No idea where it went over the past years, or even if it was there to begin with. It is a nice kit, even came with plug wires and a sheet of Bare Metal Foil. Back on the shelf she will go unless I can find a spare interior, or it may become a parts car.Now on to a 1932 Ford 5 window, hope it goes better :-)
Custom Mike Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Phil, is this the one with the opening trunk? If so, the interior builds up, no bucket at all. A floor pan, two door panels that extend into the trunk, seats and a dash.
Bullitt Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Trunk does open, I'll check at lunch & let you know. Thanks
Custom Mike Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) No problem, if you find these, you're good to go! Edited June 16, 2016 by Custom Mike Spelling
snacktruck67 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Go to Round2 web site and follow instructions for missing parts. Usually you need the UPC from the box, fill out the form, and mail off. In about 2 weeks you will receive your missing parts. I have used this procedure several times with great success.
Fat Brian Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Also, make a post in the wanted section, I'm sure someone here has a parts kit they've robbed something from and they've got this part left over.
Bullitt Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 Checked with Round 2, they only go back as far as 2008.
disabled modeler Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I know you said its a AMT kit but the instructions and assembly method looks just like a old Revell kit one...I checked my parts and do not have one here...sorry would loved to be of help.
Bullitt Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 It's an AMT/Ertl from 1998, oldie but goodie. I have some small sheets of metal from Hobby Lobby and am thinking of trying to fabricate a base that would work. Not sure how to go about it, but would be a good custom item if it turned out.

Here is a link to an ebay listing of a kit that will also have the part you need that you can pick up pretty cheap.http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-ERTL-Pro-Shop-1-25th-8455-57-Chevy-Bel-Air-/291788013675?hash=item43efebc06b:g:xp0AAOSwAuNW4PPp
Bullitt Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 TaDa! I found the floor pan. I was looking in one of my desk drawers for paint brushes and there it was. It was under some misc. stuff. Don't know if it fell in while I was working on the model, or whether gremlins in the basement hid it on me. I am in the middle of the 32 5 window now, but this will be back on the workbench soon. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
