I really want to go to this. Has anyone been before. I want to bring my wife and 2.5 year old. I need advice on how to keep my family sane. Earplugs for the kid, something to keep my wife occupied. We're young (30-32) but both have bad back injuries and can walk or sit for very long. I was wondering if they let you bring in seat pads and stuff. I still need to read over all their rules.

Also, if any of you are amateur photographers, I would appreciate any advice on lenses and settings to use. I know it all depends, but a starting point would be helpful.

I have a Canon 70D and a 70-300 4-5.6L lense and a Sigma 50mm ART I thought would be good for the paddock. If not, I have a 10-22 wide angle.

I have been there, but it has been many years ago and the track has received many upgrades since then. Some things are true of most racing venues when it comes to basics. The ear protection is a must for your children and yourself also. I would look for their web site and see what all they offer in your situation. If you have not visited the Monterey Peninsula before it is a very pretty area and usually  some what cooler than SoCal. Enjoy your weekend.

Cameron... I am Originally from Saliinas California and grew up 15 miles from Laguna Seca Raceway. Laguna Seca Raceway is off of Highway 68 between Salinas and Monterey. It's been years since I have been out to the race track. I think you would have fun. I would suggest if you decide to go to it that while you are there you need to head into Monterey and go to the Monterey Warf and go down to Cannery Row. It's pretty neat and you can also drive along the coast up to Pacific Grove from Cannery Row. There is a place Called Lovers Point on Ocean View Rd That I would suggest stopping at too. There is also the 17 mile drive in Pacific Grove that is a very scenic drive on the coast.
