Exotics_Builder Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 On Saturday, April 19, Chip Foose was the guest at the opening of a RIDEMAKERZ. The concept of RIDEMAKERZ is to customize premade cars with optional parts and paint pens, even to adding motors for RC. The models look like 1/18 scale Lexan or Plastic models. Apparently RIDEMAKERZ is owned by Build-A-Bear, so there is some money there. RIDEMAKERZ brought Chip in for the opening. Here’s a couple of photo’s I took: The last photo is of me with Chip. I had the chance to talk with him for a few minutes. He is a genuinely nice person. The gentleman before me had an Overhaulin sign on wood. Chip asked the man what his car was. The man said Camaro and chip drew a styled Camaro and then signed the Overhaulin sign. Can’t say more than that. I’m not sure about this RIDEMAKERZ concept, but it may be a way for kids to get into cars and eventually move to model kits. Or it could be a niche for those not wanting to do diecast or build models. Time will tell.
Exotics_Builder Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 That's awesome that you got a pic with Chip. He's one of the car builders I admire and his drawings are top notch. Is this a store I may be seeing pop up in our local mall????We've had some store closings in our mall and this seems like it would be hit here. Likely. If there's a Build-a-Bear there, then perhaps more likely
