Lizard Racing Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 In 1956 NASCAR started a division for convertibles. The series ran until 1962. The '57 Chevy was a real terror in the early days. This is my rendition of a phantom '57. I didn't have the decals to do Dave Wellbourn's champion. I used a mixture of self-made, leftover and "store bought" decals The engine: NASCAR only allowed a single 4-barrel, so this car is a "cheater" This is Buck Baker's champion Black Widow.
Silver Foxx Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Two real nice builds , they look great .
DumpyDan Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Awesome these are very good looking builds, nice work
Bill J Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Nice builds. In early 1957 NASCAR allowed superchargers (Ford) and fuel injection (Chevy) and they also allowed the dual 4 barrels. Sometime during the season they changed the rules and only allowed the single 4 barrel.
