In 1956 NASCAR started a division for convertibles.  The series ran until 1962.

The '57 Chevy was a real terror in the early days.  This is my rendition of a phantom '57.  I didn't have the decals to do Dave Wellbourn's champion.

Nice builds. In early 1957 NASCAR allowed superchargers (Ford) and fuel injection (Chevy) and they also allowed the dual 4 barrels. Sometime during the season they changed the rules and only allowed the single 4 barrel.
