This is the AMT Veilside Supra kit ( yes I know the Tamiya Supra is way better) but this I purchased a while back and altough I haven't been building since I finished my Integra I had to push myself to start something else. The color is Duplicolor Gold, it looks silverish but when I apply the clear it should get a tad darker, im still debating to make it a two tone paint job and apply some charcoal color but Im still not sure if I want to apply it to the bottom or the top. Im going to build it box stock with the exeption of the wheels ,dont have a clue what to use I might end up buying some pegasus wheels or something. For the interior im thinking some Tan or maybe a brown some black and maybe silver. Well enough typing, here is a pick of where Im at .

Well here we go again round 2

After painting clear coating and polishing the body 2 days later I noticed everything was ruined. Long story short the clear looked like shattered glass,(here is the link if you want to see what I mean) http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry138859 ofcourse I wasnt happy and tried to fix it, but I couldn't so I trew it in good old brake fluid and didn't continue with anything else on it . A week ago a decided to try again and after stripping the paint off I cleaned it really good and applied some high build primer, ddid some minor body work on it and rescribed all the door lines ect. Next step I wetsanded everything with 1200 grit and after I was satisfied with the way it looked I cleaned it again and sprayed the primer sealer and rescribed the body lines again. This is where Im at now.

Next the paint , I bought a new can of the same paint because I dont want to change the interior colors being that I already painted some parts. Tonight I will apply the paint for the second time and also clear it (wish me luck) Ill have some more updates soon.

Thanks for looking!

ALRIGHT GOT SOME PAINT ON IT LAST NIGHT , I WENT A DIFFERENT ROUTE THIS TIME INSTEAD OF USING THE AIRBRUSH TO APPLY THE PAINT I SPRAYED IT STRAIGHT FROM THE CAN (2 MIST COATS AND 1 WET ONE) THEN APLLIED THE CLEAR COAT WITH THE AIRBRUSH RIGHT AFTER. NEXT I'LL START THE POLISHING PROCESS TOMORROW.

Well another small update I started buffing all the parts I painted and so far its gone pretty smooth. I guess i'll know how smooth it went in a couple of days , thats how long it took for the paint last time for the problems to pop out, hopefully history wont repeat itself with this one I finally feel like really finishing something so I could get the ball rolling again. Alright now for the pics.

Hi! very small update, finished the interior box by painting the speakers also painted and glued the rollcage and painted a little on the chassis. I just need to paint the NOS tanks and the second color on the amps and the interior will be done. Hopefully I'll have a couple of hours this week to get those parts done.

Well i two tone the amps and glued them in place and also painted all the remaining engine parts. (just got to wait for those to dry) After stripping the chrome of the NOS tanks gluing them together and putting a bit of putty on the seams they are almost ready to paint I just dont know if to paint them blue or paint them champagne just like the box. (any suggestions on the color?) Alright now for the pics.

Nothing says Hp better than NOS Blue bottles. :D

Well I decided to paint the NOS tanks blue instead of champagne to match the interior, now to let it dry a couple of weeks before I bmf the brackets and apply the decals because the only blue I had was enamel. But thats it for painting on this one .Everything that had to be painted is painted , now all that is left is for little detail painting here and there and start gluing things where they go .Hopefully I wont mess anything up now.

Did a little more today the engine is now around 70% done just need to detail a couple of things here and there.

Very nice build so far. I always liked the Supra when I was younger so I may have to consider getting a kit soon.

Some of the parts for your engine are very shiny. Are they chrome parts from the kit, a special paint or BMF?

Most of those parts came chrome plated but i stripped the chrome off and sprayed it with alclad chrome, its the best chrome you can spray in my opinion. Thank's

well when I said it was going to be a very slow build I wasn't exagerating. Finally I did a little bit on this one , I painted the wheels body color then masked the lips and painted the centers charcoal. I hope this gets the ball rolling so I can finish atleast one model this year.
