kasteer Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 (edited) Picked up this AMT 34 Ford kit on sale at Michaels a while ago. Started it now that I've finished the 69 Mustang. Already chopped and channeled it... Here's my color inspiration... And some test coloring... Here's how I have it sitting so far. I think I'm using the kit's wheels and rims, but the height in this pic is probably not close to what I'll end up at... Another one... The rear so far... I've painted some med tape black and I plan to wrap the exhaust pipes with it... Well, that's all I have for now. Going to go get ready for a Cinco de Mayo party... Thanks for looking. Eric K. jeffinvt Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Yes... I've always loked that color combo. Every time I see the ad in a mag I think about doing one like it. Are you going to keep the rake?, I like it with this attitude. Deffinatly bring it down to the ground though. Nice chop by the way. See if your camera has a MACRO setting, sometimes a flower symbol, this will improve your shots alot. It will allow you to get very close and stay in focus. lookin forward to seeing more of this one.
kasteer Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 Following up with a some progress... Painted the rims and wrapping the exhaust... Stretched the frame 7/16s inch and raised the rear floor above the suspension to lower the rear... Engine and rear end... And finally the body so far. The vent will be open so I cut it out... Sorry no mock ups yet.
kasteer Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 Some new pics of the silver rod... Ended up lowering the rear and raising the front a little. Something a little different... But yeah, it has the open vent on the cowl, used a silver Duplicolor spray can. Painted the white walls flat black by hand. Still deciding if I'll just have the radiator up front, or add the grill too. I don't know... Ok. Before I finished for the night I added a number to the side. Trying to simulate an adhoc spray can stencil. It may have come out a little too spray can-ish though.... Well, that's where I am now.
Raul_Perez Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Eric, Nice job opening the cowl vent! I'm not sure about whitewall tires on a car with numbers on the doors...what "look" are you going for?
kasteer Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 (edited) LOL... White walls and a number on the door. What's the problem? I'm fairly new at this and willing to try different things. I didn't see a rule book saying I couldn't... Edited May 21, 2008 by kasteer

I didn't see a rule book saying I couldn't... Yeah...you're right...there are NO rules when it comes to rats!! If there were, that one on eBay that I sent you the link to wouldn't exist!! kasteer Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 No rules... How do you think a Donk-Rat would look? LOL.. just kidding. Yeah, that 21 inch tall rat on ebay is crazy. That interior was very ugly... shag carpet...? So you think I should paint over those door numbers? The driver's side number is a little rough, but the passenger side came out better... but I'm not worried, it's a Rat. I do like the little touches of blue against the silver. I've added the same blue to the bench seat too.

Lookin forward to seein mo pix. Later, ######'n
kasteer Posted May 24, 2008 Author Posted May 24, 2008 Wooohooo... Thanks ######'n. I understand where Raul is comin from (but actually didn't think about that til after it was brought up)... Just finished PM'n him that I'm weathered the body now so there's no turning back now. I hope to have the interior done by next weekend and the body-n-frame together. I've gotta have this done by Hune 17th, that's my goal. On the 18th I'm headed to Argentina for 3 weeks. But, after I get back I'll have a month without my wife and kids to devote to some serious modelling. They're staying a total of 7 weeks because her family is there. Have a great Memorial Day weekend all. Eric K.
