Len Woodruff Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 I have a couple of Resin Funny Car Bodies that the sides have spread out. Any suggestions on how to get the sides back in shape?
Jim_Kampmann Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Hi Len,Depending on how bad they're warped (and the type of resin they're made from), you have a couple of options. First, you could put the bodies in very warm tap water until the resin has softened slightly and then work the body back into shape. I would then put the body in very cold water to 'set' the body shape. Or, you could cut the sides (if they're straight) and re-glue them (with super glue). I've had some experience with this back in the old days when I used to have my resin business.Hope this helps!Jim Kampmann
Len Woodruff Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 Thanks Jim. I will give the warm water treatment to one of them. These were slush cast so you probably know who (I can't remember) was doing that 15 years or so years ago.
cobraman Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 I also used the warm (not hot ) water method with good results.
Len Woodruff Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 I also used the warm (not hot ) water method with good results. Thanks Ray. I am going to try that process today.
