belfast boyo Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Starting a Jo-han Ford pinto funny car. First of all it was sprayed gloss black.. Followed by a chromatic violet. I do like the 'pinto' in the back window!
mod3l Lover Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 We don't get to see too many of these. I'm really lookingforward to seeing this come together!! David S.
belfast boyo Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 We don't get to see too many of these. I'm really lookingforward to seeing this come together!! David S.Cheers David, been playing with tape to create some stripes today,ideas.....
belfast boyo Posted December 10, 2016 Author Posted December 10, 2016 This is one idea I have for stripes, based on a telly prog seen recently!
belfast boyo Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 Got the stripe done sucessfully in prismatic green. Using this, they aint cheap but give a nice effect once cleared.
belfast boyo Posted December 12, 2016 Author Posted December 12, 2016 Did the chin spoiler and back window in a luminous orange, with Fords of this era being liable to go 'pop' in a crash.....The pic was taken in twilight conditions without flash to give an idea on the ''in yer face'' brightness of the colour!
belfast boyo Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 Started on the chassis,it took a while thanks to the (lack) of instruction on the sheet.... Here it is under the body. With a spare shell..
belfast boyo Posted December 14, 2016 Author Posted December 14, 2016 Got the gas tank, clutch bellhousing and rear axle in today. Here it is for any Australian viewers so they dont have to stand on their heads to look at it! This is the decal sheet and I may use it,so it is taped the right way round on the windy - that is how we pronounce it in N.I. !!
Sledsel Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 I have one of these also, so I am watching. I know that rear end size is CRAZY, but it is not far off from what was used.
belfast boyo Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 Thanks for that pic,it will be handy for parts location.
belfast boyo Posted December 16, 2016 Author Posted December 16, 2016 Got a few bits on,namely the battery, wheelie bars, roll cage and the steering linkage.
DumpyDan Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Wow always wanted to see someone build one of these, looking really good so far
belfast boyo Posted December 17, 2016 Author Posted December 17, 2016 Cheers David & Dan,working on the inner body parts that connect the body to chassis, pics tomorrow.
belfast boyo Posted December 18, 2016 Author Posted December 18, 2016 Decided not to use the kit wheels so had a rummage in my spare wheel box. Got the chassis sprayed silver after adding a few bits. Here it is with the body on,done the firewalls silver too.
belfast boyo Posted December 19, 2016 Author Posted December 19, 2016 Got the window rubbers done with a sharpie - after masking... Decided to change the front wheels, went back to the kit items. Also started on the engine,in resale red!! It is only set in place as still need to do the headers/pipes..
belfast boyo Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 Got the gas cap & water tank caps on,headers fitted, the roll cage padding done etc. Added a few decals to the body.
belfast boyo Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Its looking pretty good. Thanks Dave. Got her cleared today, the weather was grim so not the best... I tried flash on this shot, you can see the difference between the green and blue. Without flash.. Edited December 23, 2016 by belfast boyo
