Hartness53 Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I just bought 4 old model cars from a guy at work. 3 1/25 scale and 1 big one(a chord I think). One of the small ones is a 69 Z28 while I was looking at it I noticed the body is twisted is there anyway to straightin this out? Maybe heat it up and bend it or something Thanks, Christian My total take was a 1928 Lincoln (future rat rod) a 39 chevy coupe ( future dirt track racer) the 69 Camaro and the big Chord. I gave 14 dollars for the lot. Did I do ok?
george 53 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Yeah Chris, you did good.Take the Camaro apart, holdthe bare body under some hot running water, and try to twist the body a little bit past the warp and then put it in or under some cold water while holdingit straight do it a couple of times an the warp SHOULD come out.Hope this helps.
CAL Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Yup hot water, I get the tea kettle out and boil some water. When it's whistling I pour it over the body in little doses at a time. The trick is holding it while it cools. Otherwise it just stays warpped or warpes worse. You need to hold it a little further opposite of the warp because you will get some spring back. You just have to play with it until it springs back into the corrected shape.
