Intmd8r Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Figured since the box was open for my Battlewagon kit bash, I might as well do some work to it. Never liked the kit stock tail lights, so work has started to change that....
Intmd8r Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 Pulled this one off the shelf to resume the build…. Not much to report – fill/sand/primer, repeat..
espo Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I haven't seen one of these in a while. I also never cared for the big round Lincoln tail lights. The factory wraparound tail lights always looked good. They were compact and followed the flow of the body lines. Remember some who would put tail lights in the bumper guards or even in the bumper it's self.
Intmd8r Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 Couldn't agree more David. I've seen too many of these kits built with the kit stock (Lincoln) tail lights. I like my builds to reflect how I would build the 1:1.The plan is to use stock style tail lights for a more classic look. Ironically, my Merc tail lights were sourced from the AMT Ford pick up kit.
Intmd8r Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Here we are with the Krylon Satin Black base coat: …45 minutes of masking for the two tone…
Intmd8r Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Now a quick mock up after some Testors Lime Ice. Clearly I needed to spend more time on the masking with all of the bleed thru. I’ll be busy cleaning things up, but you get the idea of where things are going.
Intmd8r Posted May 23, 2017 Author Posted May 23, 2017 Here is another body mock up – all cleaned up and polished
espo Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Your color combo looks great. I really like the way it sits.
