If anyone has a cool tip on how to get the edges of these decals to lay down better, or if there is a way to clear coat over them it would be appreciated.

If all else fails I sometimes use a 10/0 paintbrush and paint over the edges with Tamiya acrylic flat or semigloss black depending on the sheen you want.

I use Tamiya Clear first ,just paint the tire where the decal will goes let semi dry then place decal on tire , your done No silvering or edge of decal showing.

I settle them down with some setting solution and when dry I spray them with a coat of Testors Dullcote , takes the shine off the tire as well . Hope this may help .

I use the same technique and it works reasonably well
