MODELOESPECIAL Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 So I am on my way to pick up my new eclipse hp-cs airbrush and keep questioning myself on what compressor to buy, I want something small and affordable but I'm not sure on what to get. I seen a 100psi 2lb oil less air compressor at Home Depot for $69.99 but I want to make sure it will work. I would like to know what I need
Brett Barrow Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 I have a Paasche D3000R. It's got a tank and auto-shutoff. Pretty quiet. Small and portable. I bought it off Amazon for around $150. Hardware store compressors are LOUD. .

I hope my old lady doesn't chew me out for this, or if it's not as loud as a hardware compressor then maybe she won't lol
Kit Basher Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 While you're on Amazon, check out California Air Tools. I have their 2010A, it is very quiet and has lots of capacity. I have seen it on sale for $135. There is a smaller model on there for $108.
modelercarl Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 I agree with Brett on the Paasche. I have had one of these for about 10 years now.....excellent for airbrushing models.
MODELOESPECIAL Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 Thanks for the advice fellas, I went ahead and ordered the Paasche D3000R off amazon for $150,I'll have it in 2 days!!!! Can't wait to hook up my new eclipse hp-cs airbrush!
MODELOESPECIAL Posted April 18, 2017 Author Posted April 18, 2017 Do I received my paasche compressor on Friday, and these people on amazon straight gypt me! They sent me a compressor that had a paasche sticker but looked nothing like the one in the picture!!! And when I turned it on the pressure gauge didn't even work and it got hot quick, so I immediately contacted Amazon and returned it, sad to say but I ended up picking up the iwata sprint jet and boy am I happy! It's smaller and it doesn't even get half as hot as the paasche (or the fake one I was sold!) I also ended up picking up another iwata eclipse but this time I got the hp-bcs (currently own the hp-cs) I got it to do my primers, metalizers, and clear coats since it's a bigger needle compared to my hp-cs. Anyways thank you again and I'll be posting pics as soon as I get a chance to paint!
