marv13 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 (edited) New to this, although this is my second serious build, I would love some opinions and if anyone has any reference pictures for the engine please share! Also who knows what the K&N product is in the red circle in the movie pic (pic from wikia) Thank you Edited April 25, 2017 by marv13 forgot picture
Yahshu Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Nice, there was an article in Mopar Muscle on this car a few years back, the Charger was actually Chevy powered, the garage shots with the Hemi were purely cosmetic
thejunkman Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 The garage Charger is widely known as a mock up. Look at the spark plug wires they run to the rear where as they should run to the front and even in this low angle shot you should be able to see the top of the distributor that leans to the right (looking head on). So either the engine was installed backwards, with the blower flipped, OR the distributor is removed and wires routed neatly rearward for close up shots for a cleaner look.

Model Mayhem Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Looks like you have a great project on the go there. Just last week I saw one of the Fast and the Furious Chargers at an auction at Carlisle PA, it was an impressive machine. The part you were asking about in the picture, I think it is one of these:https://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=62-1400GL with your project.

marv13 Posted April 27, 2017 Author Posted April 27, 2017 I did a freeze frame of the movie and it shows the car has Mickey Thompson ET street radials and the closest thing i could find was the MTs from the AMT Motion camaro
marv13 Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 Made the crankcase pressure breather filter and grille was detailed. Any ideas on how to make ignition wire rubber base for the valve covers? Thanks everyone!
marv13 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 Been a while since I posted, here is the blower front.
marv13 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 I also did the exhaust system as close to the movie as possible, its comprised of mostly the AMT '68 GT500 exhaust and mufflers from a General Lee kit.
marv13 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 I need your help modelers, for those of you who have seen it right before the Hemi in the Charger blows a piston we see a gauge panel with 4 gauges and some lights and switches, my question is, is it located on the lower part of the dash or at the same level as the rest of the gauges? Classic Customs did a restoration on one of the hero cars and I'm pretty sure that that car has the right set up I will put pictures below of what I'm talking about and if anyone saw this car at a car show and has interior shots please share! I've already seen the interior from the wrecked stunt car.
marv13 Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 And the roll cage is in the works, and the seat will be modified or i may just make one
KENNEDYJR Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I did a freeze frame of the movie and it shows the car has Mickey Thompson ET street radials and the closest thing i could find was the MTs from the AMT Motion camaroFireball has them-http://fireballmodels.info
marv13 Posted October 14, 2017 Author Posted October 14, 2017 Tried my best to replicate the steering wheel. Feedback is appreciated!
marv13 Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Seat is done just needs paint, I used the racing seats from the AMT Fast and the Furious Supra which I shaved down.
marv13 Posted November 1, 2017 Author Posted November 1, 2017 Modified shifter using the Revell F&F Charger kit boot... the stick is from a Revell Boss9 and the short stick is scratch made...let me know what yall think!
