Mack r685st and dm600

What is the difference in the two? Not a truck guy as far as 1:1 goes. They look almost the same on the box arts.

The DM series has an offset cab and the r series has a centralised cab. There is also a difference in chassis rails. The DM is a heavy series, the r series is more highway spec but can be converted to a more heavy duty version. Hope this helps.

The DM series was designed for short-wheelbase straight trucks and urban-use tractors and had a shorter BBC (Bumper to back of cab) length than the R models, which caused the engine to intrude back into the cab so Mack offset the cab to allow for more room for the driver.  With the offset cab, the engine hump protruded back into the passengers footwell but left the drivers position unobstructed.
