my80malibu Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Hello, I am looking for ideas, and advice on how to enhance the Rear quarter panel trim on My Revell 53 Belair hard top. I am specifically speaking of the gravel guard on the front of the rear fender under the actual Belair script. These are very shallow in the engraving. Thanks,Gabriel.
espo Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I would outline the area as best you can with some tape to protect the body. Then with a #11 blade slowly outline the molding until the parting line from the body is very distinct. Since the area will be painted at some point I would make the line deep, and do the same on all of the "chrome" body trim. This way when it's time to foil or paint the trim you will have an easy to see separation line.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 You can try the foil before paint technique. A bit tedious but can be worth the time spent.
