espo Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Tulio, I always look forward to your beautiful Ford builds. I like the Red / White color combination.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted September 15, 2017 Author Posted September 15, 2017 Hey, Tulio. I'm a newbie to building, or a re-newbie after about 50 years. The attention to detail you show is incredible to me. This thing is looking fantastic. Hope you don't mind a newbie type question. I noticed where you foiled the emblems, then painted the white. A few posts later I see that the emblems are bright and shiny again, but you didn't mention how you got the white paint off the emblems. How is that done?Welcome back to the hobby Steve!!The technique to do the emblems and nameplates gives quite nice results. Like you saw, you have to foil the emblems before paint, and after the primer. When the paint is fully dry, get a wooden toothpick and it wet in some thinner, take the excess off, and use it to carefully wipe the paint from the emblems. The key here is to go very slowly, not to damage the foil, and also not to damage the paint.
Roadrunner Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Wow, looking so excellent. My hat is definitely off to you, sir.
