RestoModGuy Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 Fantastic!! This is a perfect representation of that early 2000s style of hi-tech rod, complete with the 2-tone paintjob split at the beltline. It looks bang-on like a 1:1 'glass body from Rat's Glass. I like the re-positioned taillights as well. The cross-ram intake is ideal for this style and generation of street rod and really completes the package. Beautiful work.I've been wanting to build something like this for a long time (convert the Vicky into a Rat's Glass-style body) but have had trouble assessing whether or not the stock roof would be a worthwhile starting point. Now I can see that it certainly is!Did you patch in a windshield surround and A-pillars from something else, or was it all scratchbuilt?Spex84 - Thank you for the nice comments. Yeah, I followed the Rat's Glass style with a 32 grill though. The windshield is hand-cut and set in flush to the body. Very nice job Jim! All the proportions work soooooo much better than the original kit. Outstanding!Thank you and a well received compliment from a master craftsman Not my bag, but I know a cleanly built model when I see one. Those coilovers on the front look great, nice rake, tasteful roofline.Thank you sir.. Coil-overs are from the kit, I used Aluminum Plate and buffed with platinum buffed in between the springs
Bernard Kron Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 Well thought out and executed mods. The hood side panels and the channel job in particular represent big improvements to the look. As others have said, this is a highly successful representation of a more contemporary look. Nice job!
