Hi ya,all. I thought I would get back to the bench after my divorce, I'm more settled and can give some attention to the kid in me. I'm pulling out my favorite childhood gasser. I've had the old kit a few times off and on sense I was 10years old. Now the lates willys from revell is a better kit , but the doors don't open. I know cut them open right? Well I did, and my lack of practice in the last 20 odd years, has made me heavy handed. So I graphed the old kit body to the new nose and floor pan. Pictures coming soon.

I LOVE gassers and watched SW&C run back-in-the-day.

Any gasser build has my attention. Never saw the SW&C in person, but watched a small army of other gassers in my day. Looking forward to seeing the photos.

I've been lucky to see Ohio George, SW&C, Big John, and a number of other "big name" gassers on the tracks back-in-the-day.

Michael, Great to hear from you! Thanks so much. How are you doing? I'm getting better all the time. Well I'll keep in touch thanks again. BTW, all the chrome on that frame and headers are thous new moloflo pens. They are unbelievable.

That's really great to see. I've got 2 of those pens. I played with them a bit and it looked pretty decent to me. Looks real good on your build.

Yep, I'm going to take the tip out of the # 4 pen poke a hole in the back, and try putting it though my airbrush.

Well I got to the bench today. I wanted to get some interior done on the Willys. So I mounted the windows, and flaucked the carpets. This color is not white, which would be correct. However, I just wanted the car to look like the restored version, and there are no good pictures of the interior. All the pictures that I've seen is the old car or some other reproductions. So I went with an off cream and cobalt blue. I like it.

I made the seat belt from paper and a sharpie. The buckles are thin styrene and a molotow pen. I drew black rectangles and use the molotow pen to outline the black. Then cut them out and glued them on the belts with testors window maker. The round five point buckle, is a small slice of 1/8 inch styrene tube and I used the pen for the chrome.

I've got a stash of around 150 kits now. I'm heavy on MOPARs, gassers, early F/X cars, and 60s & 70s muscle cars. Haven't made an exact count, but I'm guessing between 20 and 25 gasser kits. I won't build any reproductions of specific cars from the past. Instead, I'll build the gassers as generic type cars from periods.

That's really cool. The cool thing about gassers is any full frame car can make a cool one. I want to make a chevelle gasser someday. I'm starting to like the dodges a lot, but I love my Chevys. I only like the fords for there mutant motors of the 60s and 70s. And almost none of the body's ever. Good company with you Steve, thanks for following.

I just recently picked up a couple extra '64 Dodge 330 kits. As I gain some modeling skills and knowledge I plan to turn both of them into gassers. That's down the road a ways for me, and the reason I follow good builds like yours so closely. I can pick up a lot watching the builds of you guys. Your seatbelt trick is one I've filed for future use. I still think that's pretty slick and it looked great!

Hah! Thanks. After I posted about picking up the extra 330 kits I popped onto eBay to do a quick check. Found another 330 kit with a "Best Offer" and free shipping. It's going to be delivered to the front door for 12 bucks. Another gasser or street freak candidate.
