has anyone done this  trying to get a 2 tone paint scheme -was there a red with white top

Yup there was. I'm sure back then there weren't very many limitations on the color combos!

Thanks for posting that link Jordan, and I know for sure they were available red with the white top because my mother used to have one. That Bronco was kind of famous in our family history and more for a family picture because on the way home from school for the family picture, my older brother had rolled it less than a mile from the house! How everyone still managed to have a smile on their faces is beyond me!!!
