Hobby Shops in Mebane-Hillsborough area?

I'm going to be visiting family in Mebane and Hillsborough, NC for New Year's. Driving down from New Brunswick so I'll be mobile and willing to travel a bit outside of those cities in search of shops. Hopefully there are some good hobby shops in the area and not just the chain stores...! Thanks in advance!

None that I know of, but I live in the Charlotte area. I do remember someone saying there was a good hobby shop in King NC, which is a little bit of a drive from Mebane.

A Google search says that there is a Hobbytown in King. Supposedly there is a hobby shop in Winston Salem at the Hanes mall. I have not been to either one, can't say what they are like.

I'm about 15 mins from Hillsborough and I'm afraid to say the only shops you'll find in the area with models will be Michaels and Hobby Lobby. There is an Ollies in the area too, but you never know what they may have in stock from one week to the next.

So in an update to this thread, I did pass by a place called Bobby's Hobbies in Gibsonville on the way to Mebane from Roanoke. Hope to check it out while I'm in the area. Also going to check out Raleigh Hobby tomorrow.
