stevegt738 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 (edited) I built this as part of a group build on another forum, theme was gassers. While the other builders where doing light weight cars with mountain motors, i went with a weekend warrior that was still used full time on the road as everyday transport. This was a quick and easy build, done for fun . Build pics here http://s112.photobucket.com/albums/n197/stevegt738/models/my_models/Ford/63_Galaxie/ Edited September 22, 2012 by stevegt738
sdrodder Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 realy nice. What kind of motor is it? Looks like a t bird motor or am i wrong.
Nick F40 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Wow, now this I really like, love this car. What color is that?
Raul_Perez Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 The stance is perfect for an old gasser!! Thanks for sharing,
stevegt738 Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 Thanks guys. The color is Tamiya Italian Red, TS8 i think. The motor is a 406 FE. It is a Thunderbird motor, which was the performance option until Ford introduced the 427 FE at the end of `63.
Jairus Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Those fender ornaments were the first to get lost on a build up. The glue dries out and one bump... the piece drops down (installed from inside) and you never see it again! Then, they look like nothing on the parts tree and a lot of kids miss putting them on, so that is THE most often missed piece on early 60's Ford kits. Filling is one way, another is to make an ornament by carving or forming and then add BMF! It is not that hard...
