Mike Chernecki Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Is Model Car Garage still actively in business or are they just selling whatever inventory still exists. The website is years out of date, some detail sets have disappeared from lists. I havn't seen anything new for a very long time, I remember being able to order a detail set for a new release as soon as the kit was released. I havn't seen anything but a few very generic parts available at the lhs. Does anyone know what's up?
Raul_Perez Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 I just spoke to Bob last week. He's still in business, and doing well from what I got from our conversation. Give him a call if you have questions. He's very helpful. Regards,
Lyle Willits Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 MCG is doing just fine. Your LHS has to order new things from MCG, or else you won't see anything "new" there. The MCG web site lists all the newest stuff that has been produced. For Bob to produce photoetch for new kits, THERE HAS TO BE NEW KITS! The few new kits, such as, Magnums, Charger R/T's, Model King limited reissued race car kits, etc. do not lend themselves to photoetch sets. It is hoped that the 68-70 Nova photoetch will fit the new Revell '69 Nova kit, but Bob has to have the kit in hand before he will know for sure. He doesn't get advanced test shots like he used to, many years ago. A few years ago, on the old Hobby Heaven board, someone typed that they heard that MCG had a big layoff!!!!!! He must have layed off the Palmetto bugs in his Florida garage, because MCG is a one-man operation.
Guest zebm1 Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Shoot we ain't got Palmetto buggs anymore.....they went North, too darn many Snowbirds roosting down here now....
Mike Chernecki Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 Thanks for the information. Good to here all is good with MCG. I sent an email a while back, but had no response.
