conrod Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) My foreman told me when I was a young apprentice,,,"measure once, you can always cut twice and anyway its easier the second time around". So when i saw a new Deora on ebay for $20 aus and in a nearby suburb I grabbed it. So I thought you blokes may be interested in a comparison between an original 60's school kid build and a 2018 old fart build. So here it is so far,,,first pic is the old girl from the 60's . Second is the new drive train. Things that I did different were; 1...the dizzy mounts wrong, it stuck out horizontally from block so I repositioned it as it should be more towards vertical. 2...Had some yellow wire so wired it up dizzy as per a photo of original Deora i found on web showing it had yellow plug wires, 3....same photo noted above showed twin carbies not single as per kit, anyway i didn't have twins in spares box but I did have a set if triples of an old GT40 so I used them. Modelbuilder Mark Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Good to see you saving this one. I always had a soft spot for this kit. I look forward to seeing more.
