Here is an update on mine . Filled all the gaps with plastic liquid cemment was used to melt the plastic and to use it as body filler. Have to wait now for that toset up. I don't use Super glue on my models unless i absolutely have to.

Yeah, I don't use CA either, unless I absolutely have to.

what kind of glue is that. I used super glue on most of my stuff but for chopping it just doesnt do its jub. Chopped a 55 camoe cab and it fell and i had to redo the top. It just flew of. As for my truck nothing new right now. Gona c notch it in the rear and maybe in the fron so that when i put in the moveable hydrolics i can have it ground scrape. Also emailed my freind and asked if he has a 53 ford truck kustom canted quad headlight grill. I want to cut some out of the center and then put it in the origional opening. Also looking for a 57 chrysler front bumper. As for the rear i may just do a simple roll pan or do you guys have some ideas. All build right now are looking great. Glad i actually started this build off. Hope you gys are havin fun.

Here's what I done a couple years ago. Canted headlights with real copper tube grille and bumper

Jimmy Flintstone chopped cab that was a mess-I ended up chopping the chopped top and grafting it to the bottom plastic half. Clear plastic windows with black wire trim. I recall the front end being hard to work with when I flipped the axle

I usually use Ambroid Pro Weld but can't seem to find it around here anymore. Using Plastructs liquid cement on this one havealso used testors liquid cementto do this. I still have to figure out what color it is going to be. decided on using the street rod parts out of the Good guys 40 Ford for the suspension. Was going to make a 4 link for the rear and independent front suspension from scratch when I first stated on this. Have made all of it before for a couple other projects I have in the works.

Wow that truck is nice. Love the grill bumpers ect. I was thinking bout chopping it but right now i still need to learn how to chop because some of my previous ones turned from chop project into roadster projects. So how bad was the chopped cab. Was it like warped or just croked or incleanly done or what. Would you also happen to have some more pics? Would love to see them. Tabsscale thanks for the glue brand names. I will see if i can get some. I have been using super glue for most of my projects except instaling glass and sometimes it works great other times u just want to lite it on fire. The only real good super glue i have had was sap a gap but i cant seem to find it. The one i am using right now is kiwk bond. Also u say this is not your first custom. Well u are doing a great job of it. I will try and find one of my favorite links to a fotki site dedicated to vintage customs. I mean real period customs. U will see names like barris, westgard, balion, alex brothers bile hines, winfield ect. Great site lots of insparation. Well i am done for today. Have to change up the fenders allittle but not much. Well hope to actually get something done tomorrow.

Well I finally decided what I'm going to do for the "Custom Build Off".

It'll probably take me another week to figure out how I'm gonna do it!

Just started this week and have a long way to go. I don't see a problem with it, but it's up to sdrodder.

Okay, I think I pretty much have the suspension figured out. I did end up going about 1/8th of inch lower. Any more and it gets very problematic and complicated.

texasfunk your in. Its only been a week so no big deal. You can start buildin for it. Model may not be started. If you want to see the rules check the custom build off in the general section i think on page 2. vanagon that is going to be sweet. I see it with a 57 ford quarters for a bed chopped cab shaved and ground scrapeing stance.

Thanks, a few more pics here. I went with a copper theme throughout, which nowadays would be a scrappers dream-copper carb intakes, license plate holder, and exhaust tips. I screwed up painting the wood floor, so I just cut it out.

http://public.fotki.com/BigPoppa/kriss_stu...950_ford_truck/

The cab was really thick at the bottom, so I had fit issues with the firewall, the frame, the interior tub-I cut the top off at the paint line and got rid of that problem. Resin is always a little thicker than plastic, so I still had to grind the window edges and pillars to get the glass, dash, and door panels to fit.

This is what inspired that build
