Amato's Top Fuel dragster

I decided is time to do a dragster of one of my all time driver.

I got this kit on a garage sale, the only thing missing

was part of the rear end, but using my part junk pile

found a funny car rear that with a little mod it will work.

this was a crazy idea of mine to see if the heat will expant the tire to make it bigger.

don't know if it worked

I have been so bussy with work and family that this is almost on hold,

but not forgoten...was able to do some this morning

found this at my local drug store and I knew it would come in handy one day.

I wanted to use it for seat belts, but this weekend I said this will work for this

project.

You know that the slicks that come with the kit are two part.

and even do the inner wall is the part tthat needs to be glued

but you dont see it much only if you r looking for it

well the rubber melted the seam away and now it looks like a one piece.

but i don't think it makes the tired expand like I pretended....

having fun, maybe I light it up when I am done for a firery burnout.

Because of storm Fay here in south florida

I did not had to go to work.....so I took advantage

of that to work a little more on the engine.

Just wanted to say that Joe Amatos record of 52 wins for top fuel dragster

was broken last sunday by Tony Shumacher....I guess I have to build that one too.

finish pics coming this week, I just finished puting a couple of coats of clear on the shell

abd thank GOD it did not cracked the old decals....happy with the result.
