Detailing question

Ok guys I am wanting to super detail a model I just got. My question is do I detail before or after final paint. Things like fuel and brake lines that get drilled in at certain places are my concern. It' 1/16 scale so there is plenty of room for detail. Thanks in advance for the adivce.

I try to do most of my drilling and such before paint but some holes are so fine that they need to be done post paint. Also, some fine detailing has to be done once a certain amount of construction has taken place so you will be doing at least some on painted sub-assemblies.
