Slim Louis Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Thanks for watching and commenting, here it is! Needs clearcoat and a gas cap, but we'll call it done for now!
Harry P. Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Clearcoat???!!! Those things weren't all that shiny, were they? I think it looks great just the way it is. Pretty cool model!
Slim Louis Posted August 1, 2008 Author Posted August 1, 2008 I do it to protect the decals, and trim tape. You won't see it look any shinier then it is now. Tamiya is real glossy, Krylon is a little less glossy, (satin), and of course there is always good 'ol Dull coat. They all work well with my decals! Thanks for looking!
bsoder Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Clearcoat???!!! Those things weren't all that shiny, were they? Aren't they usually kinda muddy ...LOOKIN' good Slim!!

Harold Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Apparently, she hasn't turned a lap on the track yet. She won't look as good after the 100- lap feature event . Great looking car (and I like how you went with the Victoria trim).
Slim Louis Posted August 2, 2008 Author Posted August 2, 2008 Thanks for your comments Harold. This build is suppose to represent a modern day "vintage" racer. A real race car from back in the day would not sit this low. Even an asphalt specific car. In those days a short track mom and pop build would have raced on both kind of surfaces. So with all that said, I still build clean race cars! This is my inspiration for the build, from the 2007 North-South shoot out:
James Flowers Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I like it very much. Looks pretty much like the real one. I must have missed the build up part of it.
Willy Survive Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Nice job Slim. Are those Fred's wheels? Cause they look sweet on that car. Nice paint scheme too.
