Lighting up your Model.

What's the easiest way to light up a model? Headlights, taillights, turn signal's,  or even police lighting? Are there kits for these?

Back in the 60's we lit up our models with M-80's, however it destroyed our models rather than improve them. We had a club member build an Alaska State Trooper car a few years back and the lights worked, flashed, horn/siren worked, etc. It was awesome.
