monkeyclaw Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 (edited) Hey guys; Finally got this one done... intended for the italeri 378 kit; will direct fit.... although it "looks" like a 379, I have cast this hood with no badges, and will be offering this one as the "Americon Icon". I currently have 2 63" sleeper versions in the mold boxes; flat top and stand up, and they will be done in a couple of days. No more robbing parts from two or more expensive kits.... these conversions are intended to use the 378 kit as the donor; and are "cab delete" ....the versions for the 377 kit will delete the sleeper instead...since it is already in the kit.... you can expect a 70" inch sleeper next week; and a new raised roof, with headliner details cast in. I will have P/E grill inserts available for this one as well shortly....Any way...have a look..........matt Edited August 12, 2008 by monkeyclaw
Jim B Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Matt, Good to see you casting again. Will this be available through you or through Brad at BRL?
monkeyclaw Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Jim; Thanks...I am currently uploading the new stuff to MY site www.monkeyclawmodels.com you can find it on the "truck stuff" page. I have to say that it has been a LONG time in the making; this truck has been my only project all year.... and I hope the model truck builders like this one........matt
SpreadAxle Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 YES!!!! Matt's back, and casting some stuff I want. I'll be looking for that 70" sleeper for sure.
monkeyclaw Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks guys! I do apologize for the wait.... I had TWO molds that just would't work the way I did them; so that cost me a BIG chunk of silicone....WASTED!!! Lesson learned, but it slowed me down, as I am waiting on more sili to arrive. When I get more product; I will get the 70" molds finished, along with a 36" flat top, and all of the small parts to be able to readily use these resins on the 377 kits! I also decided to to "recycle" the original 378 donor hood center section... it will be re-born as a 378 SBFA hood; I just need to figure out the hood hinges, so it's an easy installation for builders. I will have the rest of this stuff ready in the next couple of weeks..........matt

phoneguy Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Dave, Check out Hobby Lobby for the 377 kits, but beware---I notice they've gone up $5 on their truck kits.
Old Albion Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Matt, I got your PM. Thanks for that, deliver as one consignment when you get all items together. No rush. Jerry, Thanks for the info on Hobby Lobby. I will check it out. Best Wishes Dave Bates
