Robert81 Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Finished at last. Lord knows all the grief this little roadster has given me. There where two failed paint jobs (I'm still not 100% happy with it), and the frame came apart more than once. But after 6 months, I'm putting a fork in this one, it's done. Well, onto the pics. Top down Top up Other pics. I hope you enjoy.
chebbysteve Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Nice little roadster, Robert. Has that minimalist look a classic rod should have. I like it.
Bernard Kron Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 (edited) Great take on the benighted AMT '29 A Roadster kit. Very fresh and original and yet very traditional. Very East Coast vibe. Nice detailing completes the overall look. Edited August 16, 2008 by gbk1
diymirage Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 nice job im pretty sure if it were mine, after two failed paintjobs and a whacked frame i would title it a ratrod and shelf it nice keeping on
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Looks good to me. I like it w/ the top on, but I think I'd have painted the top white, but that's just me
CB Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Love the stance on this Rob. Couldn't figure out how you did that until I saw how you z'd the frame behind the engine--cool
Robert81 Posted August 17, 2008 Author Posted August 17, 2008 Thanks all. It was very fun and took a lot of work to get it as good as it is. nice job im pretty sure if it were mine, after two failed paintjobs and a whacked frame i would title it a ratrod and shelf it nice keeping on Thanks. I don't do "rats". They are ugly, unsafe, and a waist of good vintage iron.
Robert81 Posted August 17, 2008 Author Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) Love the stance on this Rob. Couldn't figure out how you did that until I saw how you z'd the frame behind the engine--cool Thanks there is a lot more to the chassis than just the Z in front of the firewall. there is a a step up, just behind the interior. and I had to build motor mounts to hold the Flathead. Here is a pic of how the frame started. and the finished frame. Here is a link to my Photobucket album for this built. http://s214.photobucket.com/albums/cc139/beardo81/Model%20A/ Edited August 17, 2008 by Robert81
