Hmmmm.......We went to a old hobby shop a week ago. This was, back during the NASCAR explosion, one of the biggest shops in the country. They now are buying back collections as folks age and/or downsize. The 'new in box'  1/24 die cat are $5 and slow moving, 1/64 are $1 each and the 1/18 are $8 to 10 each. So good luck to him.....he'll have die cast in his store for years I bet. 

The movie stuff will be a little easier.

I have a 1:24 scale copper Tony Stewart signed fan club only diecast which was worth $250 when it first came out. Now you can not give them away. I have a lot of diecast, luckily I never considered them an investment, because they are worth nothing now.
