moonlite5hadow Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) Ok, pics are a little bad as i took them in a rush for a friend. will follow up with some friday night as i will have the house to myself after work for once! First up is a Tamiya 300zx, with the Veilside resin from another kit (forgot the name) that i acquired from ebay. front bumper not attatched yet cause there's still some trimming to do. also, swapped in an entire RB26 engine and front suspension from tamiya's R32 (later in this thread). Made some upgraded turbos and charge piping from .118" Solder wire. turbos are set, gotte be painted, but still trying to mock up the charge piping. Eventually, when its done, it'll be full charge piping from filter, turbo, intercooler then into the intake plenum. still thinking between a custom made/bent single path exhaust from the same solder wire with stock muffler and custom dual tip, or to a custom down pipe from the turbos to the stock cat, and stock exhaust from there back to the quad-tipped exhaust. (will show pics later with mock ups, i got work in 5 hours and STILL haven't slept!). interior will be stock, hood has a bulge/scoop to accomodate the turbos (will be an experiment in puddy to smooth it out) and color choice is still up in the air. Second is Castrol Tom's Supra from Tamiya. Nothin special here. just some 20" from Pegasus. gonna ditch the race interior for a street interior. still toying with the idea of actually putting the 2JZ motor in from one of my other supra kits. most likely gonna stick to curbside on this. Third, will be a box-stock Nissan GT-R. all body panels glued and mocked up on rims. I got 2 tamiya and one each of the aoshima regular and "premium edition" kits. one of the aoshima kits will be dropped a bit, and all will be on aftermarket rims, as nice as the stock nissan rims look. Here's the other one some members may remember, especially nickf40! the Skyline R32 mentioned above in my 300zx part. i suddenly found my skyline missing a motor, and got a crazy reverse-fast and the furious idea. The R32 now has the motor from revell's ShelbyGT500, a blower from an anonymous kit, slicks from a camaro kit (also revell) and the front tires from the Castrol Supra. raised rear end with barely enough clearance for the slicks. messing with getting/making fender flares to cover those meats. weed burner exhaust exiting under the doors, and stock spoiler in the back. possibly a wheelie bar and laundry bag on the rear end coming. inside gonna do it in full-race setup, with roll cage, single seat, fire extinguisher etc... im probably forgetting something, but i'll be updating later as i mentioned before. Flame suit on! all kinds of comments/criticisms welcome!! (new to scratch building, please dont be TOO gentle! especially if you have tips on scratching turbos) Edited August 20, 2008 by moonlite5hadow
Nick F40 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) cool beans! I had just got 5 turbos from a local club member that casts them but I'm not sure if he has them made, I think he might have made them special but I can ask for some if you'd like. They are based off a 60's 70's Porsche 911 or Carrera Enthusiast kit. I got them for Replicas & Miniatures Company of Maryland. If you want like I said, I can ask him about them. You'll see one on my Subaru i'm building soon. Edited August 30, 2008 by Nick F40
