Hello Everybody.

I am just getting back into modeling after nearly 40 years and have been researching big rigs in general and the Mack DM600 in particular.

To me, one of the most impressive details on a big rig model are the provisions to connect electric and air to the trailer.

Would love to hear from the veteran big rig modelers any tips/techniques they use to add this feature and I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere.

Check out the restored DM886SX in this Mack Museum tour.  I am guessing that the pogo stick & susie coils are not historically accurate for 1984.

I was thinking something like solid core hook-up wire to hold the twist of the susie coils.  24AWG is .025 inches times 25 is .625 inches.

Slightly over scale for a half-inch air hose and I'm not sure how thick the insulation is.

Also considering hex cut seed beads to simulate air hose fittings.

My brother-in-law owns a rubber shop near Akron, OH (where else?) where they extrude Viton tubing.  He's going to show me some scrap samples.
